Personal returns
1040 with all schedules - W-2 income, self-employment (Schedule C), rentals (Schedule E), investments (Schedule D), itemized deductions (Schedule A), and the rest.
It's tax time
Tax season runs better when it starts in January, not March. Here's how Magnolia CPA handles personal and business returns, what to bring, and how to get the most out of working with a CPA - not a software package.
How tax season works here
The actions you can take before December 31 are different from what you can do after. That's why the year starts with planning, not paperwork.
Late-year planning conversations - retirement contributions, charitable giving, capital gains decisions, entity-level moves.
January-February: we send you an organizer. You collect W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, mortgage interest, charitable receipts, and the other annual documents. We chase what's missing.
We prepare the returns. Anything that needs your input we bundle into a single conversation rather than a stream of emails.
We walk you through the return - what changed from last year, what to expect next year, anything we'd suggest doing differently. Then file.
What we file
1040 with all schedules - W-2 income, self-employment (Schedule C), rentals (Schedule E), investments (Schedule D), itemized deductions (Schedule A), and the rest.
Partnership (1065), S-corp (1120-S), C-corp (1120), and LLC filings as required. Coordination with your year-end bookkeeping (often through our sister firm Bee's Bookkeeping).
1041 returns for trusts and estates, including coordination with your attorney during life-event transitions.
If something's wrong
Plenty of clients come to us mid-year because something went sideways. It's almost always fixable.
See all tax services →We work through them methodically and bring you current. Voluntary compliance carries far less risk than waiting for the IRS to come find you.
Installment plans, Offers in Compromise, and innocent-spouse relief depending on the situation. We evaluate honestly which path applies.
We can represent you with the IRS so you don't have to deal with them directly. Same for state notices.
If the IRS has taken collection action, there are procedural responses. We know them.
Let's talk
The earlier we talk, the more options we have. Schedule a consultation to get started.
